Brian McLeod
Brian McLeod is a Canadian, Edmonton-based singer-songwriter and musician whose uplifting, funky, folk music is about love and life, inspired by girlfriends, God, mother Earth, travel, chocolate, encounters with Tibetan Lamas, Yoga, food, friends, and the many wonders of this good Earth. Audiences are both moved to tears and laughter at his performances, and with his intricate guitar work, and soulful voice and lyrics, listeners are inspired, enthralled, entertained, and left with love and music in their hearts. His music highlights the celebration of human connection, and audiences are consistently drawn into the powerful yet affectionate energy that radiates from his songsBorn in Edmonton and raised between Alberta and California, Brian was immersed in music early on, absorbing his father’s musicality by osmosis. Brian eventually taught himself to play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, harmonium, didgeridoo and cedar flute, and began writing songs at age 12. As a teenager he had an insatiable curiosity about music and most often chose learning music and playing guitar over completing his homework.
Along with music, he has also studied and taught Yoga in Quebec and New Zealand. Brian has performed at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, the Parihaka International Peace Festival in New Zealand, and other festivals throughout Canada, the US, and New Zealand. Brian released his album Door Of My Heart in October of 2011, and is currently working on new material. He is also a part of the "Celebrate Songwriting - Songs of the Human Condition" collaboration, with a CD that was released on April 28th in 2012.
